DMA Calls for 2010 Board of Directors Nominations; Feb. 27 Deadline
The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) Board of Directors has announced it is now accepting nominations for a limited number of vacancies on its 2010 Board of Directors. The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, Feb. 27, 2009.

DMA, in partnership with Return Path, a leading deliverability and email reputation services provider, has launched a Web-based Email Reputation Registry giving member companies unprecedented access to third-party data about their email programs. The registry makes it easier for DMA’s more than 3,400 member companies to increase the integrity and value of email marketing, and in doing so, reinforces the Association’s efforts around self-regulation in the digital marketing arena.

The National Center for Database Marketing (NCDM) 2008 Conference, co-produced by DMA and DIRECT magazine will conclude today at the Gaylord Palms resort in Orlando, Florida. S. Murray Gaylord, VP, marketing and customer insights for NYTimes.com addressed attendees this morning with his keynote presentation entitled “What You Can Do to Win and Measure Success in the Digital Revolution.”

2008 NCDM Database Excellence Awards Presented in Orlando
DMA and DIRECT magazine have announced the 2008 NCDM Database Excellence Awards winners. The awards, which honor organizations that have demonstrated ingenuity and creativity in leveraging their marketing databases, were presented during a luncheon ceremony held at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando.

Tom Boyles, senior VP, global customer managed relationships for the Walt Disney Company, addressed attendees during his luncheon keynote entitled “Understanding the Customer Focused Journey and Where It’s Likely To Go.”

DMA Offers 'Safe Harbor' Program for Companies that Import European Personal Data to US
Does your company import personal data from Europe to the US? If "yes," then you might want to consider joining the US Department of Commerce's safe harbor framework. In 1998, the European Union passed wide-sweeping privacy legislation called the European Union Data Protection Directive. This Directive places requirements on businesses that wish to collect, process or transfer personal data from an EU Member State. The US Department of Commerce and DMA have Safe Harbor programs in place to help American companies who are impacted by the directive.

Email Experience Council Launches Email Marketing Program for Women's Bean Project
eec, DMA's email marketing arm, announced that it has helped the Women’s Bean Project, a Denver-based nonprofit, successfully design, create, and launch a new email marketing program from scratch. The effort, which began last summer, was part of the eec’s annual E-ality Focus project.
